What does Luxe mean?
Luxe /luks/ adj. elegant, refined and tasteful in appearance or behavior or style. Something luxurious; a luxury.
What is a custom/bespoke suit?
“Bespoke” is a term for tailored clothing that originated from London’s famed Savile Row. Where it refers to clothing made at a customer’s behest, and exactly to the customer’s specifications. In the States, we generally refer to an exclusive garment of this quality and craftsmanship as a custom suit.
Is a custom/bespoke suit better than an off-the-rack or made-to-measure suit?
Bespoke clothing is created without the use of a pre-existing pattern; it is made to your unique specifications. This is different from made-to-measure, which alters a standard-sized pattern to fit the customer. Bespoke is generally accompanied by a high quality of construction, as well as a wide range of personalization options. All of us have worn off-the-rack suiting at some time in our lives. So we don’t need to further elaborate as to how impersonal the styling as well as the fit of these garments can be. Once you have worn a bespoke garment, you will never want to wear off-the-rack or made-to-measure suiting again.
How do I order a custom/bespoke suit online?
We believe ordering custom clothing should be fun and effortless, as well as sartorially informative. This is why we have created an online experience that emulates the same detail and personal attention that our clients experience in our design office or private appointments.
If you need style advice, you’ve come to the right place. At William Malcolm, we are known for our sartorial expertise and knowledge, which we will gladly share. If you are a corporation or an individual and you require additional consulting services, please contact us for our booking schedule.
Once you have selected the model and fabric that you like while shopping online, relax and leave the rest to our design team. We will design a custom/bespoke suit for you that incorporates the signature design elements for which the William Malcolm Luxe Collection is recognized. Of course, we will integrate your individual measurements to ensure a precise and exact fit. When your garments are completed, we will ship them to your immediate attention. If you require a personal appointment, we will make arrangements for delivery of your garments (currently limited to private appointment clients).
How long will it take to receive my order?
Suits in our Black Label Collection as well as our Formal Wear Collection typically take about 3-4 weeks for delivery, while suits in our WM Monogram Collection may take up to two additional weeks. Our shirts require 3-4 weeks for delivery, and they will be delivered with your suit order.
If for any reason your garment does not arrive within our estimated delivery time, we’ll give you a credit equal to 25% of the value of the garment toward any future William Malcolm Collection purchase. Please be sure to read our Customer Agreement section for applicable exceptions and other company policies.
Expedited orders with guaranteed 2-3 week delivery are available for shirts and suits in our entire Collection for an additional 20% service charge. Contact our office should you need this service.
How does payment work?
We request full payment at the time the order is placed. If you are ordering online, we accept most major credit cards. All payments are processed utilizing high security credit processing. If you are ordering in person, we accept cash, checks and most major credit cards.
Do you accept returns?
We take the satisfaction of our clients very seriously. If you are not reasonably satisfied with the fit or quality of any William Malcolm Luxe Collection garment that you purchase, we will remake the unworn garment once, without additional cost to you. Please review our Customer Agreement section for more information regarding our return policy.
Do you have gift cards?
Yes. William Malcolm Luxe Collection gift cards are the only alternative for someone special. You can give us a call or order right on line.
What fabrics do you offer?
We offer more than 2,000 luxurious fabrics from many of the world’s finest mills including Reda, Holland & Sherry, Ermenegildo, Zegna, Dormeul, Thomas Mason and many more. Our suiting fabrics include wool and wool/cashmere blends ranging from Super 100’s to Super 150’s, as well as seasonal weight and performance blend fabrics. We also carry luxurious 100% cashmere fabrics for blazers and overcoats. Our shirting fabrics are all 100% cotton and Egyptian cotton and come in hundreds of patterns, styles and colors.
How many fabrics do you offer online?
We have selected a small sample of our available fabrics for your online choices. As previously noted, we have over 2,000 fabrics. So, we opted to keep it relatively simple in regards to the online options. However, if you do not see a fabric that you like, by all means contact our Concierge Department. We are confident that we will be able to accommodate your needs.
Can I provide my own fabric?
Yes. While our fabric selection is extensive, we understand that customers sometimes desire very specific fabrics and linings that we do not carry in stock. Whether you are ordering online or in person, we will coordinate the receipt of your personal fabric.
How will you get my measurements?
Once you place your first order with us your measurements will be saved in your account making all future orders as easy as point, click, buy.
If this is your very first time ordering with us we will need you to assist us in collecting your measurements. You will have three simple options in which to choose how you wish to submit your measurements we will even compensate you for helping us. Upon receipt of your first order with us you will receive a William Malcolm Luxe Collection Visa® card in the amount of $25.00 just for assisting us with collecting your measurements.
Will you review my measurements before completing my order?
Our tailors have over 35 years experience in handcrafting luxury bespoke garments. If you inadvertently input an incorrect measurement that is off scale from your other measurements, don’t worry. Our experienced tailors will take notice and you will be contacted immediately.
What should I wear when my measurements are being taken?
We strongly encourage you to wear your best fitting suit and shirt while you are taking your measurements.
Can I use my off the rack measurements to have a suit made?
Absolutely! As one of our three measurement options you can skip the measuring process all together and have William Malcolm Luxe Collection custom make you an off the rack suit. With our Impeccable Fit Guarantee, we make it easy and free to adjust your suit at a local tailor to your perfect fit. Simply update your measurements in your account after your first order and turn that standard size into a perfect fitting custom suit.
What if my suit needs to be altered when I receive it?
Our only desire is for you to have a Luxe Collection custom suit that fits you perfectly. This is why each and every custom/bespoke suit that you purchase from us comes with an Impeccable Fit Guarantee. Your garment(s) should fit you perfectly upon receipt, however should your garments require any minor alterations simply contact the concierge department and we will immediately dispatch to your attention a William Malcolm Luxe Collection Visa® debit card for the amount required for your adjustments. This card can be used at your local tailor to cover any incidental adjustments that need to be made to your new garments.
What should I wear to my appointment (For private appointments)?
We strongly encourage you to wear your best fitting suit during your appointment. This will assist in the measuring process. We will also get a better understanding of your individual style preferences at this time.
How long will a personal appointment take?
Generally the design and measuring process takes about an hour during your initial appointment with us. However If you are pressed for time we can do a fitting in less than 30 minutes, and we’ve had some appointments last more than two hours, so it depends on needs of the client (currently limited to Michigan area clients).
We strongly encourage you to wear your best fitting suit to your appointment. This will assist us in the measuring process. It will also help us understand your individual style and fit preferences.
Can my garments be altered if I lose or gain weight?
Generally, yes. We leave some extra seam to allow our garments to be easily altered. We also send with every suit a William Malcolm Luxe Collection Visa® debit card to assist in fine tuning your garment.
Do you keep my measurements on file for future orders?
Yes. Your measurements are kept on file indefinitely, making reordering a cinch. Also, if you ever need your measurements for any other occasion, we are happy to provide them free of charge.
How do I care for my new Luxe Collection suit?
Always use a reputable dry cleaner. You should dry clean your garments sparingly. The process of dry cleaning involves using harsh chemicals designed to break down the stains that are on your clothes.
These same chemicals (over time) will cause the natural fibers in your suit to break down as well, thus shortening your suit’s life span. If your suit just needs to be freshened up, we recommend that you have your suit steamed and pressed only. Opt to have your suit cleaned just twice per season, unless you have stains that need to be removed. Always let your suit breathe after wearing it before returning it to the closet, and use proper cedar hangers—never wire or plastic. This will ensure that your suit will keep its shape and not disrupt the drape of the garment.
What type of confirmation will I receive upon checkout?
After a successful checkout you will receive an email that will summarize your complete order.
Can I get an update on the status of my order?
Yes. Please contact our Concierge Department and we will provide you with this information.
How do you ship?
UPS is our preferred shipping agent. All packages are insured.
What can I expect with the receipt of my order?
Each William Malcolm Luxe Collection garment is shipped fully gift-wrapped. With each Luxe Collection suit, you should anticipate receiving: the pre-loaded William Malcolm Visa® debit card, our exclusive cherry-walnut garment hanger, as well as our monogrammed garment bag. When available, you will receive the latest edition of The Luxe Code Music Series CD in addition to our current catalog and fashion magazine.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do. However, each international order is handled individually with regard to shipping costs. Please call the Concierge Department for additional assistance on all international orders.
